Domer Rafael, ISG

Domer began working at the Manitoba Club as a server in the Fort Garry Gate Dining Room in 2005, and likely never guessed it would lead to intensive schooling and a highly specialized career.  Ambitious and hard-working, he simultaneously worked at Mirlycourtois and Sydney’s at the Forks.  His industry paid off when he was appointed as the Club’s Banquet Manager in 2008.  This was mid-way through his International Sommelier Guild studies, which he successfully completed in July 2010. 

 

Domer now controls the Club’s 400 bin wine cellar, and is always available to suggest the perfect pairing for any occasion. His passion for wine has lead him to travel throughout the Northern United States, British Columbia, Ontario and Spain to visit wineries and expand his knowledge base.

In addition to Domer's core responsibilities, he also offers the Members of the Manitoba Club tutored wine tastings, wine dinners, and has a personal interest in current molecular gastronomy and the modern mixology.
